The fireworks are back for the 4th: when and where to see them

After a year lost to the pandemic, a number of communities – including the city of Pittsburgh – will have fireworks displays over Independence Day weekend.

PIttsburgh’s July 4th celebration kicks off at 6 p.m. at Point State Park with a family picnic, featuring food vendors and patriotic music. The fireworks start at dusk.

If you’re not going to be in town, here’s a rundown of where you can catch fireworks across the region.

Allegheny County

  • Brentwood: Brentwood Park at 9:30 p.m. (July 4)
  • Carnegie: Carnegie Park at Sunset (July 3)
  • Crafton: Crafton Park at 7 p.m. (July 4)
  • Township of Findlay: Recreation and sports complex at 9:30 p.m. (July 3)
  • Lawrenceville: Arsenal Park (first Saturday after July 4)
  • Monroeville: annex to the Monroeville shopping center at 9:30 p.m. (July 4)
  • Moon Township: Moon Park at 10 p.m. (July 4)
  • Mount. Lebanon: Mt. Lebanon Main Park at 9:30 p.m. (July 4) (Rain date: July 5 at 9:30 p.m.)
  • Pittsburgh: Point State Park, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (July 4)
  • Township of Robinson: Burkett Park at dusk (July 4)
  • Saxonburg: Christian New Life Ministries at Twilight (July 3)
  • Township of Scott: Scott Park at 9:30 p.m. (July 4)
  • South Fayette: Fairview Park and Boyce Mayview Park at dusk (July 4)
  • Shaler Township: Kiwanis Park at Dusk (July 4)
  • Upper St. Clair: Fairview Park and Boyce Mayview Park at dusk (July 4)
  • West Mifflin: Kennywood Park every evening approximately 15 minutes before closing (July 2-4)

Butler County

  • Butler: Big Butler Fairgrounds at Dusk (July 4)
  • March: Woodland Valley Church at dusk (July 4)

Washington County

  • Bentleyville: Richardson Park at dusk (July 3)
  • Canonsburg: Canonsburg Memorial Stadium at 10 p.m. (July 3)
  • McDonald: Heritage Park at dusk (July 2)
  • Monongahela: Monongahela Aquatorium at 9:30 p.m. (July 4)

Westmoreland County

  • Latrobe: Memorial Stadium parking lot at 9.45 p.m. (July 3)
  • Ligonier: Idlewild Park and Soakzone at 9:30 p.m. (July 4)
  • Mount Pleasant: Mount Pleasant Gazebo at dusk (July 3)

Fayette County

  • Farmington: Nemacolin Woodlands Resort at Dusk (July 4th)
  • Uniontown: Uniontown Mall at dusk (June 27)

Somerset County

  • Seven Springs: Seven Springs Mountain Resort at 9:30 p.m. (July 3)

Greene County

  • Waynesburg: Lions Club and Community Park at Twilight (July 4)
