Revel Kitchen opens third branch in Kirkwood

Revel Kitchen, the nutrition-focused restaurant is slated to open in a new location in Kirkwood in mid-October. SymBowl, which closed last December, will house Revel Kitchen’s third location.

Owners Simon and Angelica Lusky first opened Revel because they were looking for healthy options to eat on their own. The concept of building a bowl comes from when Simon was the chef of the Saint-Louis Cardinals. “I saw how well it worked as part of the clubhouse and translated very easily into the restaurant,” Lusky said.

The menu, like the one in Brentwood, will offer bowls, salads and wraps as well as fresh juices and all fruit smoothies. The bowls are fully customizable, they can be filled with basics like cauliflower rice or quinoa, vegetables like harissa sweet potatoes and sautéed collard greens, different types of protein and unique sauces like mesquite tahini and peanut miso. They have six options to choose from for each category.

For the selection of drinks, all juices and smoothies are homemade. “Our smoothies are made to order with whole fruit, locally made yogurt, plant-based milk, that’s it,” Lusky said. They have a cold pressed juicer which helps to retain the vitamins and minerals in the product.

At their Brentwood location, they have a ghost kitchen, Motor Town Pizza, which serves Revel Kitchen Detroit Pizza. They plan to launch another ghost kitchen concept for the Kirkwood location once the restaurant is up and running.

The 1,000 square foot restaurant seats 12 indoors and 12 outdoors. The space will be similar to their other locations with bright colors, wood tones, and a modern feel overall. The Luskys chose Kirkwood as their new location for good reason: “We really liked the SymBowl restaurant that was located here. We have always kept an eye on Kirkwood. We love the market and the region, and think it is a perfect match for our food. Lusky said.

Simon and Angelica also have big goals for the future. They have another location in the works and would like to potentially expand into other markets. But for now, they can’t wait to open their new spot in Kirkwood.
