Sauce Magazine – 7 Perfect Patios to Enjoy in Clayton

7 perfect patios to enjoy in Clayton

This week’s installation of our Patios Series takes us to Clayton, where a few vibrant outdoor dining spaces can be found amid the city’s vibrant cityscape. Whether you’re looking for a casual brunch, a late night full of Italian food and wine, or something in between, Clayton will meet your patio needs.

If the hustle and bustle of Clayton isn’t what you’re looking for, check out our patio guides at Place Lafayette, Central West End, Webster Groves, Chesterfield and South City. In any case, bon appétit and / or well done!

Cafe Naples
If you’ve ever walked through Clayton on a cool summer evening, you’ve probably witnessed the legendary energy of Cafe Napoli’s patio. Add a few snacks from the raw bar and some Italian classics to the mix and you have a great evening in your hands.

When Tony’s moved from downtown to Clayton earlier this year, it added another chapter to its long legacy as one of St. Louis’ most enjoyable and cohesive restaurants. Its patio will officially open in a few weeks, and we think you’ll want to check it out.

On the corner of Maryland and Brentwood, Herbie’s has a large patio open all day. On the weekends, you can’t go wrong with Herbie’s reliable brunch, a mid-day cocktail, and a little sunshine.

Louie’s Negroni, a wood-fired pizza, a grilled eggplant dip, any special pasta… these are some of our favorite things. And they’re even better when enjoyed outside on the beautiful DeMun.

Akar’s top-notch and excellent menu, packed with Asian fusion fare, is worth a visit on its own, but enjoying it on the patio takes it to the next level. Go to Akar!

Sasha’s wine bar
You know what it is. Wine, cold meats, good vibes and you can sit outside. Sasha is a classic.

Half half
For the past decade, Half and Half has been one of Clayton’s must-see brunch spots. And for good reason. Take that morning coffee to the next level by sitting down on the patio for a bit.
