Natalia Bryant covers the September issue of Teen Vogue

Natalia Bryant has already taken an important step in modeling.

Basketball legend Kobe Byrant’s 18-year-old faces off The September 2021 issue of Teen Vogue, marking her first time as a magazine cover star.

Bryant, who recently started her freshman year as a film student at USC, posed in a Spanish-style villa in Brentwood for the shoot, modeling pieces ranging from a silky Alejandra Alonso dress to a cozy cardigan. Kingsley.

While the cover was her first photoshoot for a magazine, she had practiced posing for the camera earlier this year when she appeared alongside mum Vanessa for a special Bulgari Mothers Day commercial.

Bryant said she had long dreamed of modeling since taking trips to Bergdorf Goodman with her mother.

“I want to do this,” she recalls watching a Chanel show on the New York store screen, though Vanessa cautioned her not to jump into the industry too soon.

“For my mother, it was really important for me to go to high school and study. Especially a full college too, ”she said, adding that her parents had tried to give her a normal education.

“Growing up, my parents made things as normal as possible. Thank goodness they did. It’s not “Oh, it’s Natalia Bryant, it’s Kobe Bryant’s daughter.” A lot of times they saw me as ‘She’s just Nani.’ “

Now, having signed with IMG models in February, Natalia is ready to balance both college and her fledgling career. Vanessa dropped the young model off at USC in late August, taking her two youngest daughters Bianka, 4, and Capri, 2, on the trip.

But the shooting of Teen Vogue also allowed the young model to make her voice heard.

She recalled once speaking in a TikTok video, prompting someone to comment, “This is the first time I hear your voice ..”

“I never realize it,” she said. “You still see a face, but it’s hard to… think of a voice behind that face. “
