BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Luxury travel and luxury travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler, declares Bowling Green to be one of the “best US cities to visit for Christmas” in 2021. 23 US cities are on this year’s list.
The city of south-central Kentucky borders some of the nation’s biggest and brightest metropolises, including New York City, Chicago, and Las Vegas. A few New England towns with big history book vibes⦠according to the magazine⦠are also prime destinations.
So what brought the magazine’s editors to Bowling Green? The reindeer, of course! The city’s reindeer farm and the two-mile stretch of Million Lights at the National Corvette Museum’s Twinkle at the Track were perfect for the visit.
The SOKY Marketplace ice rink is what really got our travelers into the vacation spirit. So what did they find?
Leah Spurlin of the Warren County Parks Department responded, âPeppermint hot chocolate, sitting in Santa’s sleigh, just listening to Christmas music. It’s something very special and so magical is the word they used.
The magazine also encourages readers to stay at Olde Stone Lodge in one of the 12 comfortable suites.
But the notoriety does not stop there. Forbes and Pride Journeys have also recognized Bowling Green as a must-see.
Bowling Green Tourism says the city is moving more towards a vacation destination.
Convention & Visitors Bureau Director of Communications Nora Bryant said, âIt’s great because everyone travels in December to visit friends and family, so we want our destination to be super fun. There is always something to do on the weekends in December.
