Instant impact for Huddersfield Town forward Kian Harratt on loan in the FA Cup

Kian Harratt completed his loan at Port Vale on Friday and 24 hours later his sensational B-team form transferred to first-team football.

The 19-year-old forward has scored freely this season and was on the bench for Vale’s FA Cup clash with Premier League Brentford. He came on in the 54th minute and took just fifteen minutes to make an impact on his debut.

Harratt scored an excellent diving header past former Terrier Jonas Lossl who was in the Bees’ goal. Adjusting for the center, he leaned low and to his left to place the ball in front of the goalkeeper for his first goal in professional football.

Speaking after the game, Harratt was delighted to be up and running.

“I can’t believe it – it’s great! I can’t get over it, I’m speechless, “said the youngster,” first professional goal, hopefully more to come. “

Harratt signed a new contract to keep him with Town until 2025 in December after a superb season with the B team in which he has already scored 16 times. He’s already had a taste of life on loan after previous spells with Harrogate Town and Guiseley.

Glad to be out of place already, there was another aspect of his time on the pitch that Harratt was happy with.

“With the B team at Huddersfield I don’t really play in front of fans like that,” he said, “It’s a big task and you have to get used to it but I think I have settled in well. today . “

Port Vale ultimately lost 1-4 to the Premier League side but with the help of the man from the town they will look to increase the league 2 standings where they sit in sixth place with games in hand against those around them.
