Get ready for a sultry extravaganza at the Highlands Playhouse Music in motion World premiere, October 8 to 24, Wednesday to Saturday, 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m.

Listen to over 60 Movie Musical hits sung live by the nation’s top professional talents.

Discover more than 70 costumes adorned with thousands of Swarovski crystals; you’ll swear you’ve stepped into a cloud of shooting stars, northern lights and a 3D rainbow. Sunglasses recommended.

Smell and taste the irresistible scent of yum, as corn pops and wine corks release their tempting bouquet.

And finally, feel the joy, rhythm and nostalgia that those movie songs from your favorite movies bring to your welcoming ears and tapping your feet.

Emanuel Carrero, Erin Knowles and Julia Rifino are three of the actors who will make up this incomparable company of interpreters.

They have this to say about the show.

Emanuel: “It’s perfect for the whole family. Classics from the golden era like The Wizard of Oz to the groovy pop sounds of the Beach Movies of the 1960s and the country / rock radio hits of Footloose, the music speaks to generations. Great ensemble numbers with acrobatic choreography in beautiful sparkling costumes. Everything you expect from a Broadway show comes down to 90 minutes of Wow.

Erin: “Personally, I am very excited to sing”,Hello‘of Sing in the rain. Hope people can take the time to come support and enjoy a live performance. I know Covid has been hard on everyone for several reasons, but if we can all stay safe why not come together to sing, clap and dance? Now is the time to enjoy, get away from it all and have fun.

Julia: “We have one of the most diverse and talented actors that I have had the chance to work with. We’ve all been on national tours, big cruise lines, Off-Broadway shows, or some of the biggest regional theaters in the country. We have a very close-knit, tight-knit cast vibe, and I think audiences will see that. They’ll assume we’ve been playing together for years, but we’ve all just met. I also want to mention theater security. The staff did a great job with the cleanliness of the building. Do not hesitate to come to the theater. We are all going to practice easy but necessary precautions and have fun with Music in motion. “

The show is directed and choreographed by Executive Director Scott Daniel, featuring some of the country’s top professional talent on and off stage.

Scott says, “We had a nationwide search for designers and cast to elevate the productions shown at the Playhouse to a level never before seen on our stage. “

So head over to and get ready to reserve a safe, first-class seat in October for Music in motion.
