While many fans may have been shocked to learn that the Teen wolf alum, 30 years old, and the Strange things star, 19, were cast face to face in the heartbreaking draft, O’Brien – a longtime Swiftie – was more than ready for the role.
When Swift teased the casting announcement earlier this month, the Love & Monsters actor retweeted the news with an emoji of a curious pair of eyes, it wasn’t the first time he has exposed his love for the Pennsylvania native, after sharing several tweets and answering several questions about his writing skills from songs.
“Oh my God, as always? The New York native joked in April, saying Help magazine her favorite Swift songs. “T. Swift, I mean, it’s amazing – give all of us, like, six months in quarantine and we come back to it, like, ‘S-t, I should have done more.’ Give Taylor Swift six months in quarantine and she writes 50 hit songs. It’s amazing. “
He added at the time that he thought the song “Mirrorball” from the 2020s Folklore “Doesn’t get enough credit,” before adding, “I’m a huge fan of ‘Mirrorball’. I like ‘My Tears Ricochet’ and ‘Mad Woman’, ‘Epiphany’ [and] ‘1.’ There are so many more, but these are my strengths.
The Labyrinth star, who doesn’t hesitate to share his opinions on Twitter, was particularly impressed to learn that President Joe BidenSwift’s 2020 campaign used Swift’s “Only the Young” in the ads.
“THAT’S WHY WE ARE !!!!!!! @ taylorswift13”, O’Brien tweeted in October 2020, by adding hashtags for “Vote” and “Biden Harris 2020”.
In another video at the time, he was showing off his holiday decorations while also referencing the lyrics to “Lover,” noting, “We could leave the Christmas lights on until January. #TaylorSwift, let’s go.”
